JOSHUA TREE

MARCH 17 - MARCH 21, 2027

Southern California

A Spring Awakening retreat for women ready to plant intentions, breathe deeply, and connect with other like-minded + hearted women.

DESERT DREAMERS: A Spring Awakening

YOGA + HIKE + PICNIC + SOUND BATH +
LABYRINTH + DREAMBOARD

A soul‑nourishing retreat rooted in the living spirit of Joshua Tree.

There is something unmistakable about the Mojave Desert—a quiet potency that slows time and sharpens awareness. The land stretches wide and open, inviting deep breaths and honest listening. Here, sunlight dances across rugged stone and resilient life, reminding us that beauty often blooms through simplicity, patience, and trust. It’s a place that clears distraction and gently guides you back to what feels essential.

Desert Dreamers invites you into this landscape during the season of Spring—a natural threshold of renewal, growth, and possibility. This all‑women’s retreat is designed to help you soften, reflect, and reconnect with the parts of yourself ready to emerge. Through intentional pauses, spacious days, and soul‑centered practices, you’re invited to remember what you’re creating next.

Guided by the wisdom of the Four Elements, our journey unfolds with intention: grounding through Earth as we explore the land beneath our feet, opening through Air with breath and vision, restoring through Water’s emotional flow, and transforming through Fire as we gather, release, and rise together. Each offering is thoughtfully woven to support clarity, presence, and inner alignment.

Desert Dreamers is more than time away; it’s a gateway into your next chapter. A return to yourself. A place where your dreams expand, your spirit feels held, and your path forward becomes unmistakably clear.

If the desert is whispering your name, trust the call.

Your fellow dreamer,

Donna

OUR LOCATION

With the serene desert scape as the backdrop, our Santa-Fe inspired villa is the ideal space for our Desert Dreamers retreat. Join us and breathe in the transformative, healing nature of the spiritually charged energy of Southern California’s Mojave Desert.

WHY THIS RETREAT?

Because you are a woman who dreams, evolves, and feels the nudge of a new season. And if you’re wondering whether you deserve this time, space, and nourishment—the answer is yes. Desert Dreamers was created for moments just like this.

Joshua Tree is more than a destination—it’s a portal. The high desert’s powerful stillness, vast skies, and ancient land create the perfect container to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with your deepest truth.

Spring is the season of rebirth, growth, and becoming. Desert Dreamers is intentionally timed to help you shed what no longer serves, clarify what you’re ready to call in, and plant seeds for your next chapter.

This retreat is guided by the ancient wisdom of the Four Elements—Earth, Air, Water, and Fire—each offering something sacred.

Nourishing meals, sound bath under the stars, journaling time, laughter, and meaningful conversation allow your nervous system to soften while your spirit expands. This is not about doing more—it’s about remembering who you are.

There is something powerful that happens when women gather with intention. Desert Dreamers creates a warm, supportive sisterhood where you can be fully yourself—seen, held, and celebrated. The connections formed often extend far beyond the retreat, becoming lasting sources of inspiration, support, and friendship.

holding space

To lovingly hold the experience being created, I'm sharing who this retreat is designed to support. This clarity helps ensure our time together feels calm, grounded, and deeply nourishing for everyone.

This retreat is a beautiful fit for women who feel called toward:

  • Emotionally self‑aware and able to self‑regulate

  • Feel drawn to rest, nature, reflection, and meaningful connection

  • Appreciate spaciousness, quiet reflection, and unstructured time

This retreat may not be supportive for those who are:

  • Seeking trauma processing or therapeutic support

  • Needing constant facilitation or emotional holding

  • Expecting a highly scheduled, high‑output, or activity‑dense experience

Desert Dreamers offers a supportive environment for women who are able to meet themselves where they are and move gently through their own process while being gently supported by the land, the elements, and community.

MY intention

To create a sacred space where women can pause, soften, and awaken to what is ready to emerge. Desert Dreamers is a gathering devoted to renewal—where intention becomes embodied, reflection becomes restorative, and connection becomes the thread that weaves us together. Calling in women who feel the quiet (or not‑so‑quiet) pull toward growth, clarity,

and the expansion Spring invites in.

A retreat where every woman feels safe to arrive exactly as she is—open‑hearted, curious, and ready to listen inward. Rooted in the ancient wisdom of the desert and guided by the rhythms of Spring, our time together invites grounding, dreaming, releasing, and remembering. Through elemental rituals, shared meals, movement, stillness, and soulful conversation, we create space for dreams and purpose to come into focus.

Throughout our days, we’ll move gently between inner reflection and collective connection—honoring each woman’s unique journey while amplifying it through sisterhood. We’ll plant intentions with clarity, nourish our bodies and spirits, and allow nature to guide us back to alignment with what truly matters.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Questions

DO I NEED TRAVEL/MEDICAL
INSURANCE?

Dragonfly Yoga Retreats cannot emphasize more the importance of travel insurance. As we all know, especially as travelers, “life happens.” Whether it’s family, work, mother nature, or a change of heart, it is important to be prepared in case you need to unexpectedly change your travel plans. Often for less than $150, you can purchase a travel insurance policy and be protected in the event that you need to make a change or need to be covered financially prior to or during your trip. Travel and medical insurance are both highly recommended. Most health insurance companies will not cover out of country expenses.

Check out our Terms and Conditions page for some insurance options.

ANY THOUGHTS ON JOINING A RETREAT BY MYSELF IF I'VE NEVER DONE IT BEFORE?

I went on my first ever retreat knowing no one except for the retreat leader and had the most incredible experience. I loved having the space to meet new people and also spend quality time with myself in whatever way felt nourishing moment to moment. I was placed in a shared room with another woman who started as a kind stranger and quickly became a close friend by the end of the retreat. If you’re feeling called, I can’t recommend a solo experience enough!

Since I started leading retreats in 2021, the number of women who have made new best friends is countless and so beautiful to see.

DONNA MAHONEY

meet your host

E-RYT200 | YACEP | REIKI MASTER | ASTROLOGER

Founder + Owner Dragonfly Yoga Retreats & The Yoga Loft

Hi, I’m Donna—yoga teacher, retreat curator + guide, studio owner, and a lifelong student.

My yoga journey began two decades ago as a personal inward exploration—one that gently reshaped how I live, lead, and listen. That path eventually guided me to teaching and to opening a yoga studio, with the intention of creating spaces where others could experience the same sense of connection, clarity, and coming home to themselves.

With over 2,000 hours of teaching and retreat experience, I guide Vinyasa, Restorative/Yin, and Meditation practices that are accessible, grounding, and deeply supportive. My greatest joy lies in bringing women together—creating environments where friendship unfolds naturally, laughter is welcome, and authenticity is celebrated.

In a world that often asks us to move faster and do more, I believe yoga and mindfulness offer a powerful invitation to pause, pay attention, and return to the present moment—the only place life truly happens. Throughout our time together, reflective journaling and intentional workshops are gently woven in, offering space to gain clarity, reconnect with your inner wisdom, and align with what you’re ready to create next.

In addition to hosting retreats both in the U.S. and internationally, I own a yoga studio in Wisconsin, am a Reiki Master and trained Astrologer, and lead private and corporate wellness experiences. Community—building it, nurturing it, and staying connected to it—is at the heart of everything I do.

Curating this retreat is a true labor of love. These experiences are immersive, transformative, and meaningful in the most beautiful ways—and being part of your journey is an absolute gift to me.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out at dragonflyretreatsgb@gmail.com.

I can’t wait to share this experience with you.

With love, kindness, and gratitude,

Donna
